Accomplishments
- Building on the North Shore and beyond since 1935.
- Honored by Loyola's Family Business Center and named the recipient of The Family Business of the Year in 2000.
- Built more than 44 communities in 14 northern suburbs comprised of roughly 3,000 single-family homes and 600 townhomes.
- In recognition of outstanding efforts, both architecturally and constructurally, we have been the recipients of numerous awards as The Million Dollar Builder Plus Award, The Environment Improvement Merit Award, The Gold Award for Landscape Construction, The Best Plan Award, The Gold Key Award for Land Planning, The Gold Key Award for Excellence in Housing Design and The Key Award for Architectural Design in 1981, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003.
- In the early days, we were the first to offer customized floor plans, air conditioning and imported materials as well as the first builder in Northbrook to use insulated sheathing and plaster walls in new home construction.
- In Northbrook alone, we developed 14 prestigious communities.
- In the early 90's we bought 123 acres in Highland Park and created the award winning community Hybernia, comprised of 123 empty nester and custom single-family homes surrounded by acres of nature preserves, walking-trails, ponds and stone bridges.
- While building Hybernia in Highland Park, we donated 27 acres of environmentally sensitive areas to the Illinois Nature Preserves.
- Proceeds from the opening gala of Hybernia were donated to Lambs Farm, a nonprofit organization that provides vocational, residential and social opportunities to more than 250 adults with mental disability.
- Donated a piece of land In Morton Grove so the residents of Morton Woods could have a safe, neighborhood park for their children. The park was named Jacobs Park.
- In the past years, we have been selected by financial institutions to revive distressed, bankrupt property and successfully turned them into financially viable communities as the Cotswolds of Northbrook, The Legacy Club in Highland Park and Salceda Cove of Northbrook.
- In 2000, we built a permanent corporate center in Deerfield which houses the largest and most comprehensive design center on the North Shore. The Center was recognized nationally for its outstanding design.
- Our most successful development to date, Noah's Landing in Buffalo Grove, opened sales in 2001 and sold 80% of the units in just 48 hours. That following year, we built and closed all 53 units.
